 Among the sneaker debuts at Bread & Butter Barcelona fashion trade show January 18-20, 02006, was the Doggy Biscuitz collaboration from Pony. Smart, cuffed, and colorful, the sneakers are among the freshest new street styles coming onto the market this fall. Along the same lines with Pony is the Doggy Biscuitz “Timberland/Red Wing-like” white-soled boots that also represent inspiration from the urban American scene. Pony w/ Snoop, among other urban brands at the show such as Fubu, Rocawear, and Drnkn Money, presented a unique launch in the European marketplace (see related story). If the European consumer knows the story (and the cool stickers of Snoop Dogg help explain the vibe of Pony’s collaboration), then they could be the new hot sneaker and boot in Europe among an already incendiary and savvy footwear culture.—Kathleen Gasperini | |
