Earth Day weekend in Los Angeles brought out the best among those who want to make a difference in the name of Mother Nature with a variety of festivals, events, concerts, and beach and city clean-ups. One of the best events was Create:Fixate’s “Down to Earth” show which brought up many of the up-and-coming artists in the area, plus silk-screen masters Hit + Run who created various designs on-site, and a 9 different DJ’s throughout the night. Wrigley launched a “mojito-flavored” gum with their Orbit Mint Mojito campaign and has taken heat in the last week from alcohol watchdog groups for touting a rum-flavored drink to kids through gum. Meanwhile Chronic Candy is launching a new “Herbal” Green Tea, which as we saw at a recent event where they had a sponsor booth set up, was packed with people of all ages. To think that young people don’t know what these things are is to stick your head in the sand.
