1060 Sherman’s debut collection of tops takes art pieces sourced from Paris which are then used in a variety of prints and textures on silks, cotton, and chiffon. Peacock blues and purples with silver sequins in halter tops and capped sleeves were among the favorites, as well as updated silk kimono tops which work well for wearing over denim jeans. Currently Neiman Marcus and Sugar & Spice are among the stores carrying the Fall collection.
The jeans debut was Farmer USA which takes a vintage approach to washes and design concepts. Farmer has a laid back feel to it mainly because of a unique process of light hand sand washes and no-logo labeling. But what stays distinct about the line is the superfly faux flap back pockets with a “w” stitching and the silhouettes including straight leg, skinny leg, the flapjax with the backpocket, and the el toro slim boot leg. Farmer USA will be opening its own retail store on Hollywood Blvd. later in the year.
During the LA Fashion Market, CMC had a variety of retailers checking out the showrooms, including American Rag, Kitson, Nordstrom, Ooooh La La, E Street Denim, Dillards, Anthropologie, Zappos, and Intuition, with the highest increase in orders from men’s contemporary, women’s denim, and women’s contemporary categories.
