Label Networks Launches 1st Street Fashion Business Association: THELABELLAB.COM
January 10, 2008, Los Angeles, CA—Label Networks, the leading global youth + street culture intelligence media company, has launched the 1st and only association dedicated to the business of street and contemporary fashion, called THELABELLAB.COM.
THELABELLAB.COM is both an Online Directory + Network exclusive for independent and emerging fashion brands, retailers, + industry vendors, allowing members to quickly create profiles, find, and connect with like-minded people, and gain information and news in the independent street and contemporary fashion industries in order to do business better.
THELABELLAB.COM has attracted the attention of industry players with an eclectic Board of Advisors, including Aaron Levant from Agenda Trade Show, Kevin Lyman, the director and founder of the Vans Warped Tour and Rockstar Taste of Chaos, Rama Mayo from United Trade Show, and Dre Hayes from The Museum Group, among key supporters, which has given the association increasing credibility and industry support within the trade show industry and peripheral businesses. The advantages are that THELABELLAB.COM levels the playing field for the little guy with resource information, networking capabilities, and various business service discounts for members that most small brands could never find or afford. And as a pending non-profit association, THELABELLAB.COM maintains a unique status that allows it to be less affected by the politics, timing, and costs of trade shows, fashion week, and buying cycles that only work for businesses seasonally. With it’s free membership and potential as an international business connector between trade shows, THELABELLAB.COM has driven many top core street and contemporary brands and vendors to support the movement quickly by adding their profiles, events, and news daily.
“THELABELLAB.COM was created in response to the growing demand we receive by readers of Label Networks from independent brands and retailers in street and contemporary fashion needing information and networking capabilities to create and improve business strategies,” explains Tom Wallace, the President of Label Networks and Co-Founder of THELABELLAB. “By creating THELABELLAB.COM, it was our way to give back to an industry we’ve covered in-depth for years and to meet the demands of what is the future of fashion. We built THELABELLAB.COM for this purpose: to create a business club for the future; for those who truly drive the speed of things to come; for the creators of their own barcodes.”
In addition, Label Networks has moved much of its free, on-going street fashion and trade show editorial, data analysis, images, and video interviews with top designers and buyers to THELABELLAB.COM making it a destination for original street fashion lifestyle content. The benefits for joining THELABELLAB.COM include:
- Opportunities to create brand profiles for increased global recognition, awareness, + networking
- Eligibility for business service discounts
- Increased brand marketing and p.r. by posting events, sales, video clips, + images
- Search + connect with industry vendors: distributors, transportation, sticker makers, booth builders, DJ’s, printers, retailers, silk-screeners, “sister” and “brother” brands for collaborations
