Snow Industries of America (SIA) Trade Show to Move from Vegas to Denver by 2010

After 35 years hosting the ski and snowboarding industries’ largest trade show in Las Vegas, with 6 years in the Mandalay Bay, yesterday, October 30th, Snow Industries of America (SIA) announced that it will be moving the SIA Snow Sports Trade Show location to the newly expanded Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver, CA starting in January, 2010.

“We’ve literally been turning companies away and denying established brands the opportunity to expand their presence at the trade show,” commented David Ingemie, President of SIA. “Strictly from a space issue, especially meeting and event space, we have been looking at alternatives for some time.”

The Colorado Convention Center now boasts some 584,000 square feet of exhibition hall which should allow SIA to continue to expand, host conferences, and other things for the 20,000 people from the ski and snowboarding industries that attend each year. It also makes sense that the industry trade show, which has an economic impact of $30 million and is dependent on snow, would be located in the mountains. As SIA puts it, “We’re coming home.”

Till then, the upcoming SIA Snow Sports Industry Trade Show will be January 29-February 1, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
