What’s Next in Virtual Fashion Runway Hits from H&M via Sims 2 Created by “Ordinary People Designers”

By Ryley Bane

Virtual Fashion shows have taken on new meaning as demonstrated with the release of H&M’s and Sims 2 collaborations offering up top designs for show created by people around the world who submitted their ideas over the last month. As we wrote about in June in “H&M Collaborates with The Sims Allowing Players Opportunity to Dress Characters in Summer Collection, Create a Retail Store, + Enter a Fashion Runway Contest, the firstrunway show is up and well, running, based on the theme Party Time.

Top trends from “ordinary people designers” who happen to have the game and entered the H&M contest center around asymmetrical cut dresses with animal prints such as leopard for girls, a mix of business suit dresses from the ‘50’s, and for guys, stripes in button-downs, slim pants, and cuffs.

Here’s our top picks based on originality from the Party Time theme from the new H&M and Sims 2 collection created by ordinary people:

Label Networks Review:
Halter top party dress in basic black but with trimming in leopard patterns and a skirt in an asymmetrical cut. It’s got pizzazz and would be easy to wear even after traveling in a suitcase.

Label Networks Review:
Button-down classy shirt in black and white tiger prints which brings together a punk rock aesthetic with rock ‘n roll—and it’s in short-sleeves which is sometimes difficult to pull-off.

Label Networks Review:
Over-the-top slightly but this white dress has a nice use of gold embellishments on the trim and the cut is amazing—especially with the revealing back--if you’ve got the body to pull it off. Beyonce would look nice in this.

Label Networks Review:
Classic suit top but with slightly overly-wide shoulders slimming down to a narrow cut at the bottom. The 4 buttons are cool, but the geeky Sims character in it almost ruins the jacket.
