In a clever move to promote pre-ticket sales for next summer’s most beloved music festivals among America%uFFFDs youth culture, the Vans Warped Tour and Rockstar Mayhem have created cool Holiday Gift Packages on sale from November 24-December 10th. In addition, both tours have announced their tour dates for next summer, which means the frenzy has begun among loyal fans regarding heading to the festivals and speculation about the band line-up (to start being announced for Warped on December 8, 2010).
First, the Vans Warped Tour Holiday Gift Package for $45 includes a festival ticket, Warped Tour “Commemorative Collectible Holiday Ornament,” early entrance to the show chosen, Warped Tour crew socks, and some other Warped merch.
Rockstar Mayhem Holiday Package Promo.
The Rockstar Mayhem package for $45 offers up the same thing for lawn seats, and a Mayhem beanie instead of tour crew socks. The $85 package offers non-lawn seats. Bands for the Mayhem line-up will begin being announced January 26, 2011.
The holiday packages are good ideas for many reasons, including launching the stoke for the tours earlier than usual and getting a head-start on combating the cannibalism of so many musicians on tour in general, and limited ticket sales, which took its toll on the music industry and many tours (i.e. Lilith Fair). With the Vans Warped Tour, the coveted band line-up is always quite telling about what new and up-and-coming bands are on the radar, mixed with retro comebacks, creating new fans and trends for 2011. With Rockstar Mayhem, the band line-up announcement provides a glimpse at the metal-side of music (often including a reunion band or two) and associated lifestyles.
