Fashion art have always maintained an intertwined relationship, particularly when it comes to street fashion and graffiti art. On March 15th during the wrap-up of a busy LA Fashion Week, Label Networks debuted its first LABELLAB EXHIBITION at Crewest Gallery in downtown Los Angeles featuring live fashion art installations created by THELABELLAB members’ Cardboard Robot, Andrew Hanson, Miss Wax, and Original Hip-Hop Chocolate. The Exhibition marked the first live incarnation for emerging street fashion brands to depict their independent style through artistic installations in a unique gallery in downtown Los Angeles.
DCMA collective is a music and art-inspired streetwear brand launched by Good Charlotte members Joel and Benji Madden, along with their brother Josh, and LA-based artist Tal Cooperman. In an interview at Agenda Trade Show in San Diego with Tal, Label Networks TV was able to get the scoop on the new brand, collective, and now, retail space called DCMA located in the heart of Hollywood.
As the first festival of the summer circuit, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival produced by Goldenvoice, which took place last weekend April 25-27, is where you’ll see a good chunk of the bands that will be doing the festival circuit this summer. It’s also the place where new up-and-coming bands, particularly in the indie rock genre, electronica, rave, and synth are showcasing for the first time in front of larger audiences, particularly internationally as a lot of these bands will hit up the European festival circuit later in the summer.
In what’s becoming a growing movement in street fashion and art collaborations, on May 17, 2008, the 2nd LABELLAB Exhibition took place at Crewest Gallery in downtown Los Angeles featuring live fashion art creations and installations by LABELLAB members’ Drifter, David and David, and Pretti Vacant Accessories, with a special screening of “Bomb It” -The Graffiti Documentary by Jon Reiss. The Exhibition was an exciting opportunity for emerging street fashion brands to depict their independent style through artistic interpretations in a unique gallery in downtown Los Angeles.
Each year, Label Networks includes “Cred Reports” with our data analysis which provides additional qualitative research to give insight into leading-edge trends that are popular or gaining popularity in each country or specific city. The Cred Reports are written by Label Networks in-field researchers and reporters as well as top young people who can see the state of trends within their country or city from a broad and insider perspective. These Cred Reports provide a unique addition to the quantitative data results and Macro Trend Editorial Summaries in our overall country studies. In this week’s story, we take a look at the Fashion and Accessory section of the London Cred Report for this season.
