In Part 2 of the ASR Fashion Show story from the trade show last week, January

24-26 in San Diego, Label Networks delivers images of top brands in action sports and trends in lifestyle apparel relating to this industry.

Clearly tight denim or cigarette legs are still in, but the fresh version is in grey tones, higher waists, and in some cases, overall or short jumper styles. Peacoats are also hot for Fall ’08, as well as revamped LA rocker look with bright colors mixed in with darker tones, particularly camo, simple or traditional silhouettes, and boots over pants and tights.

A few key points to take away from the Fashion Show hosted by Foam Magazine, is that boots are key, as well as tights longer tops and dresses, cardigans in a looser cuts, and wide leather belts cinched at the ribs. Accessories are key, especially hats with fedoras and pageboy styles, and accents of colors in pants and dresses. But the mix of fabrics in layers is an essential take-away.

Top brands presenting included Nikita which brings with it a Euro-style not often found in other sports-inspired street apparel, Alpinestars and unique excellent dresses and tops which show little of their motocross background (other than very cool boots), Element, Rip Curl, Hurley, Volcom, Lucy Love, O’Neill, Split, Etnies, Spicy Clothing, Roxy, Billabong, Reef, Lost, DC, Vans, and Fox Racing.

The after show included a fast-paced runway by Matix that featured among other things, a showstopper Dominique Leather Jacket reflecting a take on the late ’80’s cropped jackets, lots of cobalt blue hues, skinny denim, and cardigans.
